UNIT 3: THE EARTH´S HYDROSPHERE

Imagen
In this unit you will understand the water cycle and also about the oceans and seas.

We will learn about continental waters, such as glaciers, rivers, lakes and groundwater.

We will try to understand that water is a vital resource for us all.

This first introductory video is about the Hydrosphere and the future of it in relationship with the climate change and the use we do of water.  Nice music and true words...

                                                                         Have a look at it!!!
This video describes the importance and the various features of the phenomenon known as hydrosphere.

 THE WATER CYCLE

And here you have some videos about this interesting process called water cycle.

The first one is a happy song that will serve us to warm up and to introduce the process, the second one is a bit more serious, only a bit..., and explains carefully the whole the process and many other things related to the hydrosphere

GLACIERS

Let´s understand what a glacier is with this short and simple video about it
In this other one you can see how many colours a glacier can have. Is it just white...?
Find it out with this video.

LAKES

Science expert Emerald Robinson explains what a lake is in a simple and visual format
This is a video about the recuperation of the Aral Sea. The Aral sea  was once the fourth largest lake in the world, rich in fish, birds or other wildlife

WAVES, CURRENTS AND TIDES

The water in the ocean and seas is in continual movement. There are three types of movement: waves, currents and tides in the next two videos you can learn something more about these movements and their potencial as an alternative power

RIVERS

This is a short video of the science expert  Emerald Robinson that explains simple and clearly what a river is

GROUNDWATER AND AQUIFERS

Not many people realize that 99 percent of the freshwater we use is groundwater. This video helps people worldwide to understand the importance of groundwater.
