Yesterday after school we had lunch in St. Stephen's Green and the sun came out to give us a little vitamin D. Afterwards, we made our way to the Guinness Storehouse for a tour of the factory and then climb 7 stories to the Gravity Bar for a 360 degree panoramic view of the city. Two hours later, we hopped on the bus back to the city center for a half-hour of exploration (shopping). Today, we are going to make our way to Dalkey Castle to step back  into medieval Ireland.

THANK YOU for all of the feedback and comments! We feel so loved while we are here in Ireland. Please don't hesitate to add your comments and opinions to any posts or pictures.

Everyone is feeling more rested after the first long day and excited to keep exploring this amazing city. Yesterday, after a nice lunch in Merrion's Square park, we went to the Dublinia Museum, an interactive museum full of activities and information, which details the history of the Vikings in this area.  The museum is connected through a skybridge to Cristchurch, after which we ended our excursion for the day. One of the highlights of the day for both the students and teachers was watching over 20 students rolling down a grassy hill behind Cristchurch. Today, we are off to take a tour of the Guinness factory and spent some time in the observation tower taking in views of the entire city.

This slideshow is a selection of photos from our city tour on Monday and the visit to the Dublinia museum and Christchurch on Tuesday. You will see many pictures of us huddled together around the famous Molly Malone statue, statue of Daniel O'Connel, at Trinity College, Merrion Square with the Oscar Wilde statue, Christchurch, and crossing Half-a-Penny Bridge (antes habia que pagar medio penique por cruzarlo, ya que apenas habia puentes en la ciudad).

As you know, this the park where we usually have our lunch (if it doesn´t rain...). It is beautiful and relaxing, just what we need for these first days. They continue really excited. Their families and houses are really good and all of them tell us that they are delighted with the country and the people. Some even say that they don´t miss you at all... let´s see at the end of the week.

The Arrival...First Steps in Dublin

Here we are! We had an exciting trip into the city this morning with all of the students glued to the windows of the bus and train. The students are busy in their classes learning English and we are looking forward to a city tour this afternoon. We have been fortunate to have the same guide as in previous years...Peter. It is overcast at the moment, but we are hoping for some sun this afternoon.

This is our lunch time near the school in Saint Stephen´s Green , try to look for your child...

There are some more pictures arriving in the next post, so have a look at them

Here we are, at last in Dublin. Everything was OK, the flight on time and the students as energetic as we can expect from twelve year old children.

They are really excited about everything, suprised and curious. We think that they are going to enjoy it a lot.

In a few hours we will be uploading more information and some pictures of the journey.

In "general information", you have all  this information  in Spanish  and we´ll also send you a quick email to let you know of our arrival.
