Yesterday, we made our way to Dalkey Castle and the surrounding area south of Dublin. Dalkey rose to importance as international shipments arrived to Ireland and the shallow waters around the Liffey River proved difficult to navigate. Residents were forced to create fortified storage houses to protect the goods. After visiting the castle, we walked down to the sea to see Dalkey Island and the surrounding coastline.
So far this morning, the sun is out and we are about to head north to Howth Peninsula. Students just finished class and received their certificates and are now eating before we leave at 2. We will post pictures after our adventures.
Thanks for following our journey!
