THE LIFFEY BRIDGE
Because of the toll that was in place until 1919 – there were turnstiles either side to ensure no one escaped payment – this cast-iron footbridge is more commonly known as the Ha’penny Bridge. Crossing is now free and it will ferry you neatly into Dublin’s cobbled Temple Bar.
We almost forget to say that the river that crosses Dublin is The Liffey.
